Hayn has been investing in commodity markets for nearly 20 years, spanning multiple commodities and asset classes. His main focus is energy markets, both financial trading and physical assets. He has worked as a trader and portfolio manager, building out commodity trading desks and leading energy asset deals at DE Shaw; Castleton Commodities; and most recently at DRW. Hayn’s interests include: the role of power markets in a global landscape; changing relationships driven by energy transition; and the leveraging of technology in commodities trading. Hayn holds a Ph.D. in physics from Columbia University, and a B.A. in physics from Harvard University. He has studied and worked in South Korea, USA, Latin America, Russia, and Europe. He speaks fluent English, Spanish, Korean, and French. He currently resides in London.
