Tony Yum

Tony Yum is the head of the Beacon Intelligence team at Beacon by CWAN with a career spanning some of the world's most prestigious financial institutions. With a foundation in both computer science (BEng, Imperial College London) and quantitative finance (MSc with Distinction in Mathematical Trading and Finance, Cass Business School), Tony brings a rare blend of deep technical expertise and financial modelling acumen. His career began in earnest at Goldman Sachs, where he served as a Quantitative Strategist focused on securities lending, risk management, and funding for the Global Security Services desk. He went on to spend over six years at J.P. Morgan as a Vice President in Fixed Income Technology, working with the Athena platform in Python across offices in Tokyo and London. Prior to joining Beacon Platform, Tony founded TAY Global Ltd, where he developed algorithmic trading systems for the Japanese cryptocurrency derivatives market and built a portfolio of tech ventures spanning combat sports, food delivery, and education. At Beacon by CWAN, Tony has led the development of Beacon Intelligence — an enterprise-grade agentic AI framework that empowers traders and risk managers to interact with financial models using natural language. He is a passionate advocate for cloud architecture (AWS Certified Solutions Architect) and is at the forefront of the agentic AI revolution, actively exploring how teams of AI agents can transform productivity in the financial services industry. Based in Japan, Tony is multilingual (Japanese Language Proficiency N2) and brings a global perspective shaped by careers across Hong Kong, Tokyo, and London.
